IRuth Lee's Obituary
Lee, IRuth Armildred Cody, died peacefully on December 23, 2017 at the Red Oak Health & Rehabilitation facility after recently moving there for long term care. Mrs. Lee was born June 15, 1925 in Scurry, Texas to Ethel and Andy Cody.Iruth married her high school sweetheart, Aldredge Lavern Lee where she met him in 1939 in Josephine, Texas. They both graduated from high school in May, 1942 and married June 12, 1942. Soon after moving to Dallas, Mr. Lee left to serve his country in World War II and spent 3 1/2 years overseas in the United States Army. They were married for fifty one years until his death in July, 1993.She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Brooks of Euless, Texas, Brenda Allen and husband Charles Allen of Red Oak, Texas, son Dean Lee and wife Melissa Marco of Plano, Texas. Her brother Andy Cody, Jr. and wife Leona Cody live in Houston, Texas. Mrs. Lee has nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She has two surviving sister-in-laws, Mary Jo Adams of Dallas, Texas and Bettie Sue Brown of Waxahachie, Texas.Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her brother Adrian Cody and wife Fontaine Cody, son Jerry Lee, brothers-in law, James Adams and Harold Brown.She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church on Bruton Road in Dallas, Texas until 1972. A memorial will be held at Restland Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 10 am in the Wildwood Chapel.
