Isaac Lindsay Abernathy's Obituary
Born June 7, 1923 in Gastonia, NC and passed away October 26, 2008 in Bonham, TX. He graduated from New York University and Parsons School of Design with a degree in the Fine Arts and Interior Design. Mr. Abernathy was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, participated in the D-Day Invasion at Normandy, Operation Market Garden, and the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of The Silent Wings Museum, Toastmasters and the Central Lutheran Church in Dallas. Mr. Abernathy was an avid bow hunter and active in the Texas and the Nation Field Archery Association. He taught archery and 5 of his students became State and National Archery Champions. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Typsie Abernathy. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lella W. Abernathy; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce R. and Sharon Abernathy; daughters and sons-in-law, Tangia J. Adams and Gisele and J.D. Watson; granddaughters, Emily and husband, Matthew Armstrong, Lindsay and husband, Dondi Briones, Rebekah and husband, Derrill Frost and great grandchildren, Alexander and Evelyn Armstrong, Trysta and Ethan Briones and Alexander Frost.
