"Grandaddy" was one of a kind. Sweet, loving, pure hearted and a true servant of the Lord. He was the best example of what a man should be …kind, loyal , understanding, and looked up to for his virtue and strength. His grandchildren knew they were very very special to him . His grandson, Russell, had many wonderful stories about him taking him to Cowboy games when he was little. He was a staunch Dallas cowboy fan! Russell also told of many times when he and Grandma would come to their house..he would let them know he was there by spinning a quarter in front of them as they watched TV. They would see that quarter and exclaim "Grandaddy is here!!!" They loved him so much. I have many fond memories of his as my children's grandfather. His birthday was on Christmas, and every Christmas he would say "I'm ____ years old but this is my ____th Christmas!" Because the latter was always one higher! He loved to laugh and would often get so tickled playing with he grandkid's toys they received for Christmas. He will be truly missed by his family and at Christmas when the prayer is being said before dining. He was the epitome of a "good" man. He was loved by all who knew him.
