Isabel Gomez III's Obituary
Isabel Gomez III was born to Isabel Gomez II and Maria Concepcion Reyna and grew up in the Little Mexico area of Dallas where attended Cumberland Hill Elementary. Isabel graduated from N.R. Crozier Tech H.S. in 1955, then graduated UTEP B/A in 1959, finishing his education by graduating Perkins School of Theology with a Master of Divinity 1963 . Isabel also married the love of his life, Katy Alice Scogin in 1963.
Isabel began his pastoral ministry in Tucumcari, NM 1963 and served as an active ministry 43 years. he was a life long member of Emanu-El UMC, retired clergy member Rio Grande Conference. Iseabel retired in 2004, during this time he also served as a chaplain at Parkland Hospital for 15 years.
Isabel and his wife Katy, whose passions were travel, opera, the arts, they made frequent trips to Spain, France, Mexico, Brazil, Portugal, China, The Holy Land and other places. He enjoyed sports, golf, racket ball and bicycling.
Isabel is survived by children: Corey Gomez, wife Monica; Blas Gomez, wife Lexi; Reina Dickerson, husband Frank. Grandchildren- Corey Jr., Beck, Canyon, Marley, Landis. Brothers Rudy and Frank Gomez. Sister Patricia Valdez, Brother-in-law Lazaro Valdez. Many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday Nov. 17th 5pm-8pm at Restland Funeral Home: address- 13005 Grenville AVE DALLAS, TX 75243 Celebration of life will be held Friday Nov. 18th 10am at Restland Funeral Home.
