Iva Helen Fry's Obituary
Iva Fry was born November 6, 1919, in Yazoo City, Mississippi. Her parents were Zoner Bogue and Leona Delaware Watson. She transitioned on March 8, 2025, at 105 years old. She confessed her Christian faith as a young child and was baptized at Old Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Bentonia Mississippi. Upon moving to Dallas, she became a faithful member of Hamilton Park First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leonard Fry, son Daryl Fry and great great grandson Jalen Watson. Siblings Cleotha, Delaware, Hollis and Eli Watson. Sisters Azeal W. Brown, Leasy W. Crow, Anna Watson Ross, son-in-law Clemmie DeWalt. She leaves to cherish her memory, Sherri DeWalt (daughter), Gary and JoAnn Fry (son and daughter in law). Grandchildren: Amber DeWalt Davenport (Herman), Kris DeWalt, Jeffrey Fry, Lauren Stubblefield (Cameron). Great grandchildren, Steven DeWalt, Amaurie Davenport, Jaylend Davenport, Elijah Davenport, Matthew Davenport, Andria Davenport, Landin Fry, Ahmad Stubblefield. Great great grandchildren, Milan DeWalt, Chase DeWalt, Aaliyah Fry. Numerous nieces and nephews, especially Shelia Benson whose morning phone call was the highlight of her day.
The graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Restland Cemetery & Memorial Park.
