J. C. Conner's Obituary
Born on August 25, 1927 in Connerville, TX and passed away on October 22, 2011, at the age of 84. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Carlene Conner. Together they made their home in the Garland area their entire married life. He attended First Assembly of God in Garland (First at Firewheel) since its beginning. He retired from Mustang Rebuilders when it closed in the area after 35 years of service. He later went to work for Garland ISD where he received Support Person of the Year several times. After retiring from GISD, he and Carlene enjoyed traveling. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed. J.C. is survived by son, Glenn Conner and wife, Donna of Fort Worth; daughters, Sue Baxter and husband, Keith of Garland, Jane Johnson and husband, Doug of Corinth and Linda Laube and husband, Rick of Owasso, OK; grandchildren, Mike Conner of Fort Worth, Darbi Glassburn and husband, Cory of Lakeside City, Clifton Baxter of Orlando, FL, Stephani Hayes and husband, Dave of Stillwater, OK, Sean Laube, Bridgette Laube of Owasso, OK and Jessica Tallant of Shreveport, LA; great-grandchildren, Maverick Glassburn and Landry Glassburn of Lakeside City, Caitlin Tallant and Natalie Tallant of Louisiana and Michael Stader of Shreveport, LA. He is also survived by four sisters, Estelle Cromeens of Carrollton, Nell Ruthrauff of Seymour, Betty Holt and husband Ray of Rockwall and Beth Roberson and husband Herb of Mesquite; and one brother, William Conner of Wichita Falls. Visitation: 6 to 8pm, Tuesday, October 25 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, October 26 at Garland First at Firewheel, 5500 Lavon Drive. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park.
