Jack W. Brannon's Obituary
Jack W. Brannon, born September 20, 1936 in Dallas Texas, joined God in heaven on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the age of 84. Jack, a native Texan, was raised in the Dallas area. He graduated from Adamson High School and studied engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington. A majority of his life was spent in Plano on Biscayne Drive where he raised his family. He loved sports especially football and reading books, but his passion was fishing. For those who knew him, he could talk for hours about his time at the coast or on a lake, reeling in all the crappie he had the energy to filet! After 35 years as an engineer for Texas Instruments, Jack began a second career driving a school bus for Dallas ISD and finishing as a bus driver for Duncanville ISD. He was a loving spouse, father, PawPaw, and friend. Preceded in death by his wife, Stella; parents Ava and Felton Brannon; sister, Jeanine Anthony. He is survived by Carolyn Chandler, spouse, of Duncanville, TX; two daughters: Angie Aldridge (husband Dennis) of Plano, TX; Kelley Stoermer (husband Trey) of Trophy Club, TX; two sons: Matt Brannon of Lyons, CO; Mark Brannon of Arvada, CO; 10 grandchildren: Amber Gates (husband Ryan); Patrick Kurkowski; Brooke Marvel (husband Cody); Blake Stoermer (fiancé Hannah); Bailey Stoermer; Daniel, Ian, & Emerson Brannon; Emma & Isaac Turner; Two Great-Grandchildren: Rylie and Adaline Gates; along with nieces, nephews and great friendships he has maintained over the years.
A celebration of life will be open to all friends and family on Tuesday, February 2nd at Faith Bible Church, 1437 W. Pleasant Run Rd, Desoto, TX at 10:30 am. For those unable to attend please join the service by livestream by vising WWW.Faithbible.com.
Our family will miss his strength and stubbornness, sharing his favorite meal (breakfast) together, his love for cooking: especially his chocolate & pineapple pies, Sunday dinner of roast beef and homemade macaroni & cheese, karíc, homemade ice cream, his infamous spaghetti & meatballs and many more. But we will mostly miss his love, optimism, and dedication to family.
