Jack Francis Fanta's Obituary
FANTA, JACK FRANCIS passed away in McKinney on Monday December 27 at the age of 91. Mr. Fanta, originally from Cleveland, OH, had been a Dallas area resident since 1946. With the outbreak of World War II, he joined the Air Force where he was a navigator on bombers flying the European theater ultimately rising to the rank of Major. He graduated from SMU with a business degree in 1948 and went on to a long career with General Motors Acceptance Corporation. He was preceded in death by his wife Jane, his sister June of North Carolina and his brother Ralph of Ohio. He is survived by daughter Jeannine Marksberry of McKinney, son and daughter-in-law John and Sally Fanta of Las Vegas, two grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nine nephews and two nieces. Visitation will be at Restland Funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2010. Graveside services with military honors will be held at Restland at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2010.
