Jack Hampton's Obituary
HAMPTON, JACK 84, was born Aug. 23, 1927 in Little Elm, TX to Minnie and AJ Hampton and died peacefully, surr-ounded by family Feb. 22, 2012 at his home in McKinney, TX. He was the 13th of 14 children all of whom, along with his parents, preceded him in death. He served with the Merchant Marines during WWII. He married Nell Kimbrell in 1948 and went to work for the Dallas Dressed Beef Co. He became a partner in 1970 and in 1973 the owner. He ran the company until 2004 when he passed it down to his son, David. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, water skiing, farming and raising cattle, and was happiest travelling with Nell in their RV, pulling a trailer with a couple of mules or horses in it. Jack is survived by his wife of 63 1/2 years, Nell; son, Mike Hampton (Tomi); son, David Hampton (Linda); daughter, Janis Hampton; loved like daughters, Katherine Hall (Bill) and Laurie Hardage (Jeff); 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral serv-ices will be 12:30 pm Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012 at Restland Cemetery, 9220 Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243. Visitation will be 6-8 pm on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012 at Restland Cemetery.
