Snake River Overlook, Grand Teton NP, by Jack Harrison – winner of the 2021 Heard Nature Photographers Member’s Choice Award.
From Jack: “I made the photo at a spot Ansel Adams made famous with his image of it in 1941. It’s the Snake River Overlook in Grand Teton National Park. The sky was so incredibly colorful that morning…
I have been up there 14 times, beginning in 2003. Most often I have gone in late September, hoping for an early snowfall on the mountains - which is pretty rare. At that time of year, the large animals have completely shed their winter coats, and are at their most handsome. The aspens in Grand Teton are bathed in autumn glory at that time…” from email dated 1/08/2022.
Thanks Jack for inspiring us with your kindness and beautiful landscape images! We miss you!! -- Heard Nature Photographers Club, McKinney, TX
