Jack married the love of his life, Billie Joan Stanley August 19, 1950 in Monroe, Mississippi.
In 1957 Jack and lifelong friend Louis Stanfield went into business together and purchased a service station at Haskell and Fitzhugh in Dallas. In 1959 Jack moved to Mesquite and he and Louis purchased a Humble (Exxon) station. In the early 60’s they purchased a Shell station on Gus Thomasson. Jack was a self-made man winning a trip for himself and his wife Billie to Hawaii for selling the most gasoline in the nation for that quarter.
Jack purchased a Shell station on Oates Dr. and decided it was time to try the business out on his own. He purchased one heavy duty truck. In 1972 he acquired the first property on Tripp Rd. and established Jack Hester’s Wrecker Service. He acquired the final Tripp Rd. location, purchased another truck and continued to grow his company out of sheer determination and responsibility to his family. Jack was well respected by the men and women in the trucking industry due to his reputation of great work and his outstanding crew of dedicated employees.
