Jack Loraine McAnally's Obituary
McAnally, Jack Loraine 93, went to be with his Lord on January 18, 2013. Jack was born April 17, 1919, in Chicota, Texas, to Lum and Myrtle McAnally. He married Velma Bernice Brawley on November 8, 1941. He and Bernice were married 66 years before she passed away in August 2008. Jack was also preceded in death by his parents, his one-year old twin brother, Joe Leslie, and his older sister, Lois Vogel. Jack served five years in the U. S. military during WW II and left the army with the rank of captain. After returning from the war, he was employed as a machinist at John E. Mitchell Company and rose through the ranks to become an executive vice-president, before he retired. He was a 50-year plus member of Lakeside Baptist Church where he served in many capacities, including as a church deacon. Jack lived his last remaining years at Emeritus Spring Creek Gardens in Plano, TX, where he died peacefully in his sleep. Jack is survived by his three children, two sons and a daughter: Joe McAnally and wife Nelda of Plano, TX; James “Jim” McAnally and wife Mary of Hampton, VA; and Deborah “Debbie” McKinney, and husband Glen, of Shreveport, LA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Family visitation will be held at Restland Funeral Home on Tuesday January 22, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday January 23, 2013 in Restland Memorial Park at 10:00AM.
