Jack Ronald McLain's Obituary
On April 13, 2026, Jack Ronald McLain, devoted husband, loving father, beloved grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Jack was born on April 4, 1930, in Dallas, Texas. He attended North Dallas High School and the University of North Texas. He began his profession in sales as a milkman. His first full-time job after college was with Chapman Homes where he built, sold, and maintained properties. He was a professional salesman and spent most of his career at Welders Supply.
Jack was a vibrant lover of life and people. He was a master of knitting, and if you asked him to make you a sweater, you’d certainly have one the next time he saw you. He was always preparing a new sweater for the upcoming arrival of the next new great-grandbaby. He shared his humor, wit, and wisdom with anybody who had the time for a conversation. His favorite conversations in the latter years of his life were with his beloved wife, Suz, and his kids and grandkids; singing songs and sharing jokes to make everyone laugh and smile. And he did just that!
Jack’s greatest passion was the Lord who led him to salvation at Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church. He served there as a deacon in his early years and continued to live in service to his faith and trust in his Savior. Jack was a current member of Central Baptist Church, Crandall, Texas where he attended weekly worship with the wonderful people who joined him in the pews.
He was always so proud of his family bragging about the number of kids (8), grandkids (17) and great grandkids (26); and the joy of his life was his sweet Suz who he brought flowers and wrote countless poems and cards for 43 years.
He is survived by his devoted bride of 43 years, Suzanne Kadane McLain; his 7 children Marlene Kirk (husband David), Jimmy McLain (wife Debbie), Meg Beene (husband Gary), Mary Atkins (husband Tim), Ernie Embry (wife Dawana), Melanie Mittel (husband Ron), and Andrew Embry (wife Lisa); his grandchildren, Michael McLain (wife Katie), Melissa Thompson (husband Gregg), Jessica Fogarty (husband Brad), JD Kirk (wife Kaitlin), Elizabeth Tyler (husband Nick), Matthew McLain (wife Chenoa), Ben McLain (spouse AJ), Sarah Olivarez (husband Nathan), Emily Pool (husband Brody), Mason Atkins (wife Kelsie), Mark Atkins (wife Ashley), Jake Embry (wife Cigi), Nathan Embry (wife Kyrie), Madeline Taylor (husband Chas), Caroline Belt (husband Ty), Natalie Embry, and Luke Embry; and 26 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Ronnie McLain, and his infant great granddaughter Caroline Tyler.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, April 22 at 2:00 PM at Central Baptist Church in Crandall, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Baptist Church Crandall Tx.
