Jack Edward Miller's Obituary
Miller, Jack Edward of Allen, Texas, went home to be with Our Lord, November 23, 2012. He was born August 15, 1924 in West Plains, Missouri, the son of Frederick Marvin and Katherine Idella Miller. After graduating from West Plains High School, Jack worked in Eldorado, Arkansas, in a 100 Octane Refinery. After the war, he went to Venezuela to work for Gulf Oil Corporation. While in Venezuela, Jack met his wife, Patricia, and was married in 1951. Jack and Patricia had 2 sons, David, born in 1952, now deceased, and Jeffrey, born in 1955. In 1964, the family moved to Tripoli, Libya, for six years, and then Jakarta, Indonesia, for two years, finally returning to the States in 1973 (the best place on earth). Jack worked for Occidental Petroleum in California and Houston, retiring in 1985 to Ingram, Texas. Jack loved to play golf. In 2000, he and Patricia moved to Riverhills in Kerrville, Texas, where he could play golf as often as he chose. Jack was a member of Riverhills Country Club. Jack loved the Lord and sought to serve Him in many ways. He served at his home church, Kerrville Bible Church, as a deacon for several years. He also volunteered at Hilltop Nursing Home, sharing God’s Word with those in which he came into contact. Jack is preceded in death by his son, David; three sisters; and a brother. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; son, Jeffrey; and daughter-in-law, Doris Ann all of Allen, Texas. Jack is also survived by two grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Jack was an exemplary and loving husband of 61 years. As a Believer and Christian, he gave all credit for his blessings, spiritually, materially, and physically, to our God and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was loving and generous, with great compassion for others. Jack was a man of spirit with a keen sense of humor. He loved the fellowship of family, friends, and neighbors. He will be missed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kerrville Bible Church, Kerrville, Texas, Gideons International, or a charity of choice. A Memorial Service will be held at a future time at Kerrville Bible Church, Kerrville, Texas. Jack will be laid to rest at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Kerrville, Texas.
