Jack Reed Minch's Obituary
MINCH, JACK REED was born February 16, 1931 in Putnam County, Ohio and expired September 5, 2013, at Baylor Garland Hospital. He spent his youth in Bay City, Michigan, later graduating from Michigan Technical Mining and Engineering School. He was talented and his early years were spent flying and later serving in the Air Force. During his tour of duty, he married Delores Irene Reid and they were together until her death in September 1992. They lived in El Paso, Texas; Orlando, Florida; and moved to the Dallas area in 1987. Jack was a fun loving person who enjoyed many hobbies including photography, needlepoint, woodworking and stained glass. His culinary skills were superb. He was a Laser Engineer by trade, a chef by choice. His favorite surprise was baking bread and unique pastry for holiday gatherings. He always allotted time for fun, traveling, dining at nice restaurants and meeting new people. Jack knew something about everything. He was generous, non-judgmental, and willing to help anyone. He and Delores had two children, Chris and Lisa. He was a great father, teacher and was involved in all family activities. At the time of his death, he and Bernice McPeak Fraze had been married 221 months, over 18 years, and celebrated every month-a-versy. Bernice often said Jack was the best thing that ever happened to her. Jack is survived by his wife, Bernice, two children, one granddaughter and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores, and his mother and father. Services will be held at 3:00 PM on September 9, 2013 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. Jack will be truly missed and the holidays will never be the same.
