Jack Shirley's Obituary
Jack E. Shirley was born on December 20, 1939 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Owen and Virginia Shirley. He passed away on October 18, 2008 in Dallas, TX. He graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1958 and Oklahoma State University in 1962 with a degree in Marketing. He met Janie Purlee at OSU his freshman year and they were married on May 25, 1963. Jack joined the U.S. Navy in 1962 and served on the USS Oriskany air craft carrier. They moved to Dallas in 1964 and he worked for the Gardner-Denver Co. His entire career was spent in the oil field equipment industry. He is survived by his wife, Janie, his daughter Maryjane Laurin, son-in-law Richard K. Laurin, Jr., grandchildren Ginny and Richie Laurin, his sister and brother-in-law Mary and Kent Hall, niece and nephew Erin and Clint. Service will be at 3:30PM Thursday October 23, 2008 at Restland Memorial Chapel. Memorials may be made to St. James Episcopal Church, 9845 Mccree Rd Dallas, TX 75238.
