Jack Shisler's Obituary
Jack Shisler was called home on January 14, 2022. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Jack enjoyed a rich, warm and loving life with his wife, Sharon, and his children Breck Shisler, Staci Chessa, Caroline Wilson and Cristina Campbell.
He was gifted with loving in-laws including his daughter-in-law Lori Shisler; son-in-law Nico Chessa; son-in-law Brian Campbell; and dear friend Charles Koetting; plus, three beautiful grandchildren, Sophia Campbell, Jackson Shisler and Declan Wilson.
He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Jack and Sharon hosted numerous family gatherings at their home around the big round table. Jack was a supportive grandfather who regularly attended sporting events, performances, and birthdays for his grandchildren. He was a wise and loving role model to his children and grandchildren.
Jack was born on September 2, 1940 to Hazel and Jack Shisler in Cripple Creek, Colorado until his parents moved him as an infant to Lubbock, Texas where Jack grew up and completed his undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering at Texas Tech where he held a number of university leadership positions. He then attended Purdue University in Indiana and completed his MBA.
Jack started his career with such companies as IBM, KPMG and AT&T moving from Texas to Chicago and back to Dallas where he planted roots. He began his entrepreneurial path early and started up four new businesses during the remainder of his career. He held officer-level roles in many civic organizations such as Dallas Executives’ Association, Dallas Rotary and a Dallas women’s health group. But his favorite group was his 40-year friendships with the Junto of Dallas members.
Jack’s faith in the Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit was the foundation for everything he did in life. His relationship with Christ is enduring. We celebrate Jack’s “coming home” though he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Sharon.
The service will be held at the Wildwood Chapel of Restland Memorial Park on March 16, 2022 at 10:00 am. Due to COVID, we are requesting masks be worn.
