Jack was a kind and generous teacher. I had the priviledge of being a student in a figure drawing class that he taught one day a week when I was in college at East Texas State University in the 1970's. I had studied figure drawing for several years and struggled with the concept. In one class period Jack made it all make sense. Teaching us to observe the stroke and counter stroke of the weight shift of the figure. As an Art teacher myself for the last 39 years I have passed along Jack's explanation of this concept to many many students. I use examples of Jack's work to inspire my students every year. I think fondly of Jack every time a draw figures.
