Jack D. Utter's Obituary
After battling Renal Cancer for 7 years, Jack D. Utter, 71, of Dallas, TX passed away in the early morning August 11, 2010. For 50 years, he was the devoted and loving husband of Carole W. Utter. He is survived by 4 children, Duane & his wife Sabrina, James, & Jody Utter, and Beth & her husband Chris Dains; a sister, Susan Hall; and 5 grandchildren, Chris, Brandon & Smyth Anne Utter and Madison & Michael Dains. He was an active member of the Hillcrest H.S. Class of 1957 and he later graduated from North Texas State University. His last 24 professional years were spent working in the aerospace industry before retiring in 1999. Besides long car trips and the beach, Jack had a love for golf and retirement afforded him many rounds with his foursome. He also enthusiastically worked part time at Elliott’s Hardware post retirement, running the Department 56 section. A memorial service will be held in his honor Saturday, August 14th at 12:30 pm in Restland’s Memorial Chapel. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Kidney Cancer Association, or your preferred charity, honoring his passion to beat such cancers.
