Jack A. Wagner Sr.'s Obituary
WAGNER, JACK ANDREW SR. 91, went to be with the Lord on April 25, 2012. He was the firstborn of Carl & Esto Wagner on May 3, 1920 in Fort Morgan, Colorado. It was there he made many lifelong friends as a boy scout, athlete, musician, good student and 1938 Student Body President. In 1942 he earned a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University where he was a member of Theta Xi Fraternity. It was there he met his future bride Marjory Elaine Willson. After commencement he went to work for U. S. Rubber in Passaic, New Jersey and was married a year later. Before long he answered the call to serve his country in the Army during WW II and was honorably discharged in 1946. Soon after they moved to Borger, Texas to work for Phillips Petroleum and begin their family. The early 60’s took them to Chattanooga, Tennessee where he became Chief Process Engineer for Farmer’s Chemical. In late 1970 he returned to Texas to work for Nipak Fertilizer. After retiring as a professional engineer, he opened a Baskin Robbins store in Mesquite, Texas. While living in Mesquite he enjoyed fellowship as an active member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church of Garland, Texas. After the passing of his beloved wife of fifty four years he moved to University Place in Houston, Texas. His kind and gentle nature attracted many friends who came to know and love him. He was a caring person who was cherished by his family. Jack is survived by his brothers, Joseph G. Wagner of Bethesda, Maryland and Carl R. Wagner (Georgette) of Fullerton, California.; sons, Jack A. Wagner, Jr. (Linda) of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Clifford C. Wagner (Susan) of Sugar Land, Texas and Mark W. Wagner (Karen) of York, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Carl Wagner (Linda), David Wagner (Kay), Melinda Hamby (Michael), Lance Wagner (Ruxandra), Julie Knight (Josh), Michael Wagner, Matthew Wagner and Amy Wagner and nine precious great-grandchildren. Family visitation will be Friday, May 4th from 6 – 8 P.M.at Restland Funeral Home, with the funeral on Saturday, May 5th at 10 A.M. at Restland Wildwood Chapel. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be given to the church or charity of your choice.
