Jackie Dean Saffle
March 13, 1936 – February 18, 2023
Jackie Dean Saffle was born in China Spring, TX on March 13, 1936 to Oletha and Ruby Saffle. He passed away at the age of 86 on Saturday, February 18, 2023 in Kemp, TX.
He grew up with a single mom and his brother Bobby Saffle in Waco, TX. That is where he met Carolyn Norwood and they were married on June 21, 1958.
Jack loved his family, life, church and friends. He loved a beautiful yard, his puppies and his Baylor Bears. The first thing you learned when meeting Jack was how to curl your hand and say Sic’em. He helped with church baseball/softball and Sunday school parties. Ice cream was always an after game treat. When the youngest came along, they would stay up late and watch “Those Were The Days” and eat McDonalds quarter pounders before supper.
Later in life he married Barbara and was loved as Boppa to her four daughters and their children. There they spent time at Northway Church and began the Sticky Frog Bible Study. He ministered to many and loved his pastor, church family and his bible study.
Jack was preceded in death by his father Oletha (Jack) Lee Saffle and mother Ruby Carpenter Saffle.
He is survived by his wife Barbara and her daughters, Betsy, Ginny, Mary and Kerrie and their families. As well as his is first wife Carolyn, his children, Debbie and Britt Moore, Vic and Carol Saffle, D’Anna and Bob Davis and Meagan and Dave Litts along with eight grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Bobby Saffle of Paris, TX and cousins Becky and Claude Lindsey and Dale and Teresa Gilliam of Waco, TX and many other dear friends.
