Ms. Jackie Louise Smallwood's Obituary
Jackie Louise Smallwood (Wells) passed away peacefully in the evening of Sunday, November 26, 2023 after an ongoing battle of health issues, surrounded by her family.
Jackie was born on February 24, 1947 in Galveston County to Herman and Wanda Smallwood. Being adopted shortly after by her maternal grandparents Opal and Linnie Fisher who lovingly raised her as their own. Married to David Wells on September 11, 1997 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Upon moving to Dallas in 1977, Jackie graduated from Richland College where she went on to work at Texas Instruments in the Department of Defense as Facilities Planner. A rewarding career where she won numerous accolades for outstanding work until she became a stay at home wife to help raise her grandchildren.
Most known for her expressive storytelling, giving and nurturing nature, and sharp as a Damascus blade memory. She was the entertainment in any room with an infectious laugh that made it hard to not laugh right along with her. Things she enjoyed, and was ultimately good at, was using her green thumb to grow a garden of plants and flowers, read as much as a book a day at times, cook a meal from scratch for those she loved and the people they loved, and as a result bringing people together. There is no doubt she will continue where she goes.
Survived by her son Joey Praker III and wife Keri Praker, granddaughter Taryn Pierce and husband Josh Pierce, great-grandson Jonah Pierce, grandson Joey Praker IV and wife Victoria Praker, daughter Karen Rogers, granddaughter Brittany Kemp and husband Gary Kemp Jr, great-grandson Conor Kemp, granddaughter Devian Rogers, grandson Darien Rogers, and countless loved ones including brother-in-law Lloyd Wells and wife Sheila Perry-Wells, sisters Lydia Swint, Linda Bergstresser, brother Kenny Fisher, son-in-law Kris Stubblefield, nephews Chance, Kenny, Jonathan, long-time friends Shanna Easley, Michelle Jackson, Marcy Garza.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the new year with more details coming soon.
