Jackie Elijah Young's Obituary
Jackie Elijah Young, age 61 of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2010. Jackie was born on June 28, 1949 to Fred and Edna Young of Byhalia, MS. Jackie grew up in Memphis, Tennessee where he later graduated high school before being drafted into the US Army as a medical corpsman. After his military service, Jackie met Patricia Beauregard while attending LeMoyne-Owen College in Memphis,TN. Shortly after marriage, Jackie and Patricia relocated their family to Dallas, Texas where Jackie began his 30 year career as a surgical technician. Jackie is survived by his daughter Jacqueline Young; three sons, Justin, Jamaal, and Joshua Young; grandchildren Andre, Jayden, and Jaya Young; mother Edna Young; sister Billie Jean; brothers Woody Gaddy, Thomas, Dewitt, and Terry Young as well as a host of cousins,nieces, and nephews, all of whom Jackie has inspired and supported directly. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Young. Jackie has touched uncountable amounts of people with his quick wit and his ability to make even the most downtrodden individual crack a smile. He was always thinking about trying to make sure everyone around him was having a good time, whatever the circumstances. Jackie, and his warm and caring persona will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held in Dallas, Texas on Friday, December 31, 2010 at 3:30 PM at Restland Memorial Chapel; 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75243. Funeral services will also be held in Memphis, Tennessee on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM at M. J. Edwards Funeral Home; 1165 Airways Blvd., Memphis, TN 38114
