Jacquelyn Phillips Woods, 1935 – 2019Jacquelyn (“Jackie”) passed away on February 15, 2019. She was born on November 7, 1935 in Amarillo, Texas to Jack and Evelyn Phillips. The Phillips family moved to Dallas when Jackie was 7. She attended Highland Park schools and helped with the family’s drug store business. Her parents were both antique collectors, and her mother became antique dealer. In high school and college Jackie was accomplished in playing the piano and singing in musical productions. After graduating from Highland Park High School and Southern Methodist University, Jackie began collecting antiques until she amassed enough to open an antique shop down the block from her mother’s antique shop on McKinney Ave. One of her customers, Dr. Channing Woods bought so many items that she often joked that she had had to marry him to get her inventory back.Jackie and Channing had three sons who each took turns accompanying Jackie on her annual antique buying trips to England. After retiring his medical practice, Channing joined Jackie in the antique business until he passed in 2012.Jackie is preceded in death by her sons, Weldon and Preston and is survived by her son, Chandler and his children, Austin, Harrison, Kathleen and her brother, Jim T. Phillips.Services for Mrs. Woods are scheduled for February 18, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Restland Funeral Home.
