Jagat Singh's Obituary
Jagat Singh, 96 years old, passed away on July 8, 2021 at his son’s home in Carrollton, TX.
Jagat was born on November 4, 1924 in Lahore, Pakistan to Munsha Singh and Raj Kaur. He had an older sister, Leelo Kaur, who he protected and cared for very much.
He married his beloved wife, Swaran Kaur, who sadly departed four years ago. Jagat is survived by his three children – son, Bhupinder, and daughters, Kamaljeet and Jaswinder. He also considered Shashi, his daughter-in-law, as his own daughter.
Bhupinder, Kamaljeet, and Jaswinder would go on to have kids of their own, making Jagat the proud grandfather of six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Jagat had a passion for writing, listening to classical Indian music, and reading the news. He also served as President of Gurudwara Singh Sabha in Jalandhar, Punjab. He loved all of his friends and family very much. Jagat made an impact on every person he came across with his positive energy and contagious laugh. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
Funeral and cremation will be at Restland Funeral Home on Saturday, July 24th at 2pm immediately followed by prayer and langar (dinner) at Sikh Temple of North Texas (506 Gatewood Drive, Garland, TX 75043).
