Jaime Dizon Samonte of Garland, Texas passed away on October 8, 2018, in Garland, Texas. He was born on February 26, 1946, to Miguel Samonte and Concepcion Dizon in Cavite City, Philippines. He married Esmeralda Samonte on April 19, 1969, in Wilmington, California. He served his country by enlisting in the Navy from 1964 to 1990 as an E-7 Chief Petty Officer, then he worked as a Postal carrier for 17 years.He is survived by his daughter, Dina Reed of McKinney, Texas; sons, Jamer Samonte of McKinney, Texas, Mickey Samonte of Mesquite, Texas; sisters, Marciana Wong Chip, Concha Wong Miller, Caridad Wong Meren, Elena Wong Perez, Grace Samonte Villapana and Rita Samonte Delacruz; brothers, Federico Wong, Ricardo Dizon Samonte, Jose Dizon Samonte, Ramon Basa Samonte, and Miguel Basa Samonte Jr.There will be a Vigil from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a Rosary from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM in The Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, located at 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243.Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2018, at 9:30 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church located at 600 N Jupiter Rd, Richardson, TX 75081. Burial service will be at 12:15 PM at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, 75211.
