James Harlan Benoy's Obituary
James Harlan Benoy was born in Columbus, Ohio on July 17, 1955. James moved to Dallas, Texas when he was 6 years old and graduated from Lake Highlands High School. He married his sweetheart in 1975 and they lovingly raised two wonderful daughters. They retired together on their 20-acre farm caring for the land, horses and dogs. James worked as an insurance catastrophe adjuster traveling all over the country. He was an avid drummer all his life and continuously added to his collection of antique drums. For the past 10 years, James put his whole heart into the town of Weston’s Volunteer Fire Department. James is survived by his wife of 45 years, Martha Benoy, his daughters, Shannon McNamee and Callie Groh, his sons-in-law, Shawn McNamee and Eric Groh and his four grandchildren, Logan, Delaney and Paisley McNamee and Colton Groh as well as his sister, Susan Biggs and her family. James was preceded in death by his father, Hal Benoy, his mother, Carlene Benoy and his brother, Stephen Benoy. After fighting a battle with colon cancer for the past 3 years, he passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 10, 2021.

Services will be held July 17, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Wildwood Chapel of Restland Cemetery.
