James D. Brockman's Obituary
James D. Brockman, of Farmers Branch, Texas, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026, in Mabank, Texas. James will be remembered as a devoted father, son, brother, friend, colleague, father‑in‑law, uncle, cousin, and—his most cherished title of all—Granddad. Born on June 28, 1941, in Quanah, Texas, to Charles Leo Brockman and Naomi Lucille Anderson Brockman. James lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service. He was active in his church including ushering and serving as the altar server for the church acolytes, loved tutoring children in reading and math at his local elementary school, and treasured time spent with his family. James attended the University of North Texas where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He spent many years working for Texas Instruments and the Dallas County Juvenile Department. He enjoyed golf, fishing, and—most of all—anything his granddaughters loved doing. James is survived by his son, Scott Brockman; daughter‑in‑law, Mindy Brockman; granddaughters, Macy, and Avery Brockman; sisters, Jo Ann Brockman Werner of Hurst, Texas, and Betty Lynn Brockman Tyler of Denton, Texas, and brother-in-law, David Werner of Hurst, Texas, along with many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Leo Brockman; his mother, Naomi Lucille Anderson Brockman; his brother, Charles “Brockie” Keith Brockman and brother-in-law, Frank Tyler.
Memorial Service for Mr. Brockman will be on Saturday, March 21st @ 1pm. The family will hold the service @ Christ United Methodist Church in Farmers Branch @ 2807 Valwood Parkway Farmers Branch, Texas 75234, and a reception honoring James will follow at the same location.
