James Winston Burns' Obituary
Age 82 of Plano, Texas was born January 10th, 1927 in Barry, Texas to Wiley and Eppie Burns and grew up in Frost, Texas. He served in the Coast Guard during WWII on the USS Meigs. He was a Corporate Credit Manager for Van Waters & Rogers and Slaughter Brothers before retiring in 1993. Jack is survived by his wife, Shirlie, children: Lisa, Rick and wife Julie, Kenny and wife Rhonda and grandchildren: Colby, Luke, Peri, Courtney, John and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded by six brothers and sisters. Funeral and burial service will be Tuesday, March 10th at the Dallas – Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75 211 at 11:00 am. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, March 15th at 4:00 pm at Preston Place Retirement, 5000 Old Shepard Place, Plano, Texas. Dan Carroll will officiate at both services. In lieu of flowers, tributes may be made to East Ridge Park Christian Church, 2701 Town East Blvd., Mesquite, Texas 75150 or the charity of your choice.
