James Harold Callicott's Obituary
James H. (Jim) Callicott passed away on August 4, 2025. He was born on October 31, 1948 in Stamps, Arkansas to wonderful parents J.B. and Odell (Hudson) Callicott. He is survived by his wife, Susan (Tankersley) Callicott, their children Jennifer Derryberry (husband Billy), Jamie Gentry (husband Ryan) and Jay Callicott (wife Sarah). His grandchildren are Jordan Derryberry (wife Bailey), Madison Derryberry, Carson and Brady Gentry and Emma and Austin Callicott. His older brother Larry has passed away. His two loving sisters are Patricia Peveto and Sharon Fucili (husband Gaspare). Leigh Anne Hope, Brent Peveto and Wendy Morrone are nieces and nephew.
Jim grew up in the Lake Highlands area of Dallas, then attended El Centro and East Texas State colleges. After a long and successful career representing Federal Sign Co., Chandler Sign and Aero-Tec, Jim retired in 2010. He had many hobbies, including wood-working and leather-working. He could build or repair just about anything mechanical or electrical. His favorite place to spend time was in East Texas, so he bought land near Athens and enjoyed camping, hunting and just relaxing in the Piney Woods. He and Susan raised their family in Richardson. Buckingham Rd Church of Christ was his Church home for 45 years.
After a private family celebration of life, he will rest in the East Texas land he loved so much.
