James Lawrence Chance's Obituary
Chance, James Lawrence James Lawrence Chance, child of God and first son to Terry and Suzanne Lohr Chance, born June 4th, 1985, the light of our eyes, lived 24 rich and rewarding years before unexpectedly passing from this earth of natural causes on December 31st, 2009. He was preceded in death by his namesake and paternal grandfather James Lawrence Chance. He is survived by his parents and beloved brothers, William Thomas & John Christopher Chance, his paternal grandmother Ethel Chance, maternal grandparents Charles & Marian Lohr, godparents Lissy & Mark Nancarrow and, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. James lived his entire life in Richardson where he attended Richardson Heights, West Junior High and graduated from Richardson High School in 2003 where he played percussion and occasionally assisted at the Dallas Wind Symphony. He pursued higher education at Collin County Community College and was preparing to enter The University of Texas at Dallas to pursue a business degree. James was employed as a Program Manager at ETSNA. He also ran a production company, Quick Blue Two (QB2), which specialized in video imagery of high performance vehicles. James had a passion for cars and racing and loved his numerous friends whom he met online and in person especially his friends at Dallas Performance Racing. James was a kind, compassionate, hard working, trustful and loving son, brother, nephew, cousin, and grandson. His circle of friends knew no bounds. From Portland Oregon to Miami Florida and in between, James had many, many friends that he loved and who admired and loved him. James’ potential was unlimited. He had incredible talents and varied interests and lived life to its fullest. We are eternally grateful to both Mike and Laurie Taylor who mentored and taught James morals and ethics in the inseparable realm of life and business. We are also grateful for the wonderful community in which we live, including the Richardson Emergency Response Team for their service, Parkland hospital and staff for their care and compassion, and the outpouring of love and support from our family, friends and co-workers. Visitation is at Richardson Restland Memorial on Thursday, January 7th at 6:00pm followed by a memorial at 7:00pm. Funeral services will occur the following day (Friday) at 10:00am at Saint Paul the Apostle Church in Richardson. Donations will be accepted in James’ name (The James Chance Memorial Fund – Bank of America, TX2-510-01-01, PO Box 630005, Dallas, TX 75263-9705).Though short in years, our lives have been forever changed by your presence in our lives. God, grant us faith and eternal hope that one day we will be reunited with James in Heaven in Christ Jesus.
