Riley would come by and visit with a good friend of mine at the office. They went to the same church. Come to find out he was in the 112th. Cavalry with my Dad. So he talked me into coming to one of the unit's reunions. I have been going to them ever since. Riley would also come by the office and visit. We have been missing the visits lately. He always had a smile on his face and was always kidding around. He was very instrumental in my association with the 112th. I have had the chance to meet a lot of men and women that mean the world to me. Riley was one of them. Jim Sharp

He was the kindness man I have ever had the honor of knowing. He will be missed by so many and I know he will always keep a watchful eye on us down here. I will especially miss him shooting at the squirrels and possums in our neighborhood/my yard. He served our country honorably and he will always be remembered as a hero to me and so many others. Please except my deepest condolences.

I had the pleasure of getting to know JR just last summer. I was newly retired and would go out every morning to walk my dog. Most days JR would be sitting on a bench in his front yard. I went over and started talking to him. He was fun to talk to and interesting. He was so kind and had the greatest smile and a kind twinkle in his eyes. I am so lucky that I got to share part of his life. I will miss him very much.

It was through Riley's kind heart and generosity that I met him and Donna back in 1961 when I was in the 8th grade. I was waiting at the school bus stop one day when Riley and Donna stopped on their way to see if I'd like a ride. That was the beginning of a very close relationship to the Chennault family over the years, which eventually led to them becoming members of Bella Vista Christian Church. Thank you, Riley, for that first of many rides to school. My sincere sympathy to Dorothy and Donna. Love, Joan
