He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Cowan; children, Tim Cowan and wife Janet, Pam Moore and husband, Chuck; grandchildren, Jason Cowan and wife, Jennifer, Shawn Cowan and wife, Jennifer, Toni Moore, Alex Cowan, Michael Cowan; great-grandchildren, Liberty Cowan and Timothy Cowan; brother, Bob Cowan and wife, Elizabeth; sister, Helen Cowan; niece, Laurie Riley; nephews, Steve and Danny Cowan, Jimmy Richardson; He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, also the family request that everyone come and dress casual for The Celebration of the Life of James Alfred Cowan.
