James Patrick Cummings' Obituary
It is with deep sadness but with wonderful memories that we announce the passing of James Patrick Cummings of Mesquite, Texas, on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at the age of 83. He will always be remembered as a loving and kind brother, uncle, and friend. He was born on March 13th, 1942 in Van Nuys, California to James B and Wilma Ruth Dodson.
James is survived by sister, Dawn Reneau; nieces, Stephanie Goode, Heather Green, and Leslie Hill; great niece, Katelyn Green; great nephews, JJ Goode, Bryson Hill, and Diesel Reneau; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by father, James B Dodson; mother, Wilma Ruth Dodson; and sister, Vicki Rankin.
Visitation will be held at Restland Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00pm, as well at Restland Funeral Home's Wildwood Chapel on Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 1:00 to 2:00pm, where the funeral service will follow at 2:00pm and interment at Restland Cemetery - Garden of Devotion. A reception will follow at Restland Event Center.
He will be fondly remembered by his loving family and all who knew him.
