James Addison Daniel's Obituary
James Addison Daniel was born on May 5, 1946, to Frederick Reap Daniel and Dorothy James Taylor. He died on May 19, 2024, and was preceded in death by his parents.
An only child, Jimmy is survived by his many cousins and friends who loved him. Jimmy D, as he was known to all, grew up in Pleasant Grove and graduated from Samuel High School in 1964. He briefly attended college in East Texas, then later served four years in the Army.
Jimmy was a master storyteller and not above the occasional embellishment. He once told a friend that while he was in the service singer Eddie Rabbitt stole his girlfriend. He was the center of attention at any family gathering. Jimmy was a natural salesman and spent most of his adult life in sales. He also had several part time jobs and worked at the State Fair of Texas for 22 straight years, including 2023, something he was very proud of.
A celebration of life will be held on June 9 at the VFW Post 6796, 9179 Garland Rd, Dallas from 12:30-2:30. Burial will be at a later date at Shiloh Cemetery in Waldo AR, next to his parents and in the company of generations of his Daniel, Hunt, Crawford and McKissack ancestors.
