James Frank Dykes' Obituary
James Frank Dykes, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 73.
Born on April 11, 1952, James lived a life marked by kindness, dedication, and love. He was a devoted husband to Margaret Dykes, with whom he shared 45 cherished years. Together, they built a life full of warmth and joy, raising two children—Kenneth and Elizabeth—who carry forward his legacy of compassion and strength in their own families.
James was known for an unwavering love of family. He found great joy in spending time with others, whether it was a Sunday afternoon get-together, sharing stories, or tending to his garden. His passion for growing roses brought beauty to the family’s home, and he would share that joy with gifts of roses to neighbors, friends, and school teachers working with his wife and children.
As a professional accountant, he would lend tax-related assistance to family members and friends when not at work. And he could often be found on Sundays at the church where he volunteered in the mornings to greet visitors, and again in the afternoon as a caretaker for fish tanks that filled community spaces.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will continue to bloom in the lives he touched.
A chapel service to honor James’s life will be held on September 2, 2025, at Restland Funeral Home in the Memorial Chapel.
