James Michael Egan

James Michael Egan, lovingly known as Jim, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on October 15, 1936, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Jim lived a full and meaningful life centered around family, friendship, service, and hard work.
Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army, stationed at Fort Dix and in Alaska. He received an honorable discharge on September 30, 1962. His years of military service reflected the dedication and quiet strength that would define him throughout his life.
Following his service, Jim built a long and successful career with Kraft Foods, where he spent the majority of his professional life. He retired in 1995 as Vice President of Operations, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues through his leadership, integrity, and work ethic.
Outside of work, Jim enjoyed spending time on the tennis courts and was a proud member of Brookhaven Country Club, where he formed many lasting friendships and enjoyed the game he loved.
Jim was a devoted father and grandfather whose greatest joy came from his family. He is survived by his daughters, Maureen Klusaritz (Charlie) of Northampton, Pennsylvania; Kelly Tallo (Jeff) of McKinney, Texas; and Debbie Rusnak (George) of Aledo, Texas.
He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Stacey Plessinger (Jimmy) of York, Pennsylvania; Michael Tallo (Melissa) of McKinney, Texas; Matthew Tallo of McKinney, Texas; Connor Holman of Aledo, Texas; and McKenzie Holman of Aledo, Texas. Jim was also blessed with a great-granddaughter, Madalynn Weidner of York, Pennsylvania.
Jim is survived by his sisters, Patricia Bunk of Dallas, Texas, and Mary Borkowski (John) of Midlothian, Virginia, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his loving and devoted companion, Cindy White.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan Ann Egan; his son, James Michael Egan, Jr.; his parents, Michael and Mary Egan; his sister, Kate Mihalkovitz; his brothers, John Egan and Joseph Egan; his brother-in-law, Richard Mihalkovitz; his brother-in-law, James Bunk;, his sister-in-law, Joan Egan; and his cherished partner of 23 years, Mary Thrash.
Jim will be remembered for his steady presence, his love of family, his sense of humor, and the kindness he extended to everyone who knew him. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and the family he loved so deeply.
He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Restland Memorial Chapel, with a graveside service to follow.
