James Henry Evans' Obituary
EVANS, JAMES HENRY (Jim) 75, died at home April 22 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Kansas City, MO, Jim attended the University of Missouri before moving to Dallas where he met and married his wife of 52 years, Jane Moon Evans. He received his certification as a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and served a president of Roeder and Moon Insurance, Inc. He was an active member of East Dallas Christian Church where he was an elder, served as Chairman of the Board of Elders, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. He was Nation Chief for YMCA Indian Guides when his sons were tribe members and a member of the board of Dallas Center for the Developmentally Disabled. Jim will be remembered most for his deep faith, incredible sense of humor, sense of adventure and the joy he brought with him wherever he went. Any and every occasion was more fun and full of laughter if he was there, and his love of and devotion to his family was unparalleled. Preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Edna Evans, Jim is survived by his wife and best friend, Jane; son, James H. Evans, Jr. (Jay); son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Moon and Rhonda Evans; daughter and son-in-law Joan Elizabeth and Syd Singer; grandchildren, Perry Evans, Janie Evans and fiance’ Gionvanni Sanchez, Samantha Singer and Joshua Singer; and a host of extended family and friends.
