James Robert Frazier's Obituary
James Robert Frazier, age 86 went home to be with Jesus on November 2, 2021. James, known as Bob to everyone, was born in Wichita Falls, Tx on July 13, 1935, to parents Jim Bob and Hazel. He was raised in Alvarado, Tx. Upon graduation from the University of Texas in 1957, he began working at the headquarters for Southland Life Insurance in Dallas, Tx. Shortly after he started, Bob was drafted into the United States Army and served in the occupation forces in South Korea. When he was discharged from the Army he went back to Southland Life and worked with them until 1987. Bob then worked with the IRS until retirement.
Bob married the love of his life, Ruth in 1961. Shortly thereafter, Bob adopted Ruth’s 4-year-old son Rickey from a previous marriage. Their daughter Gina was born in 1963.
Bob was an avid golfer, tennis player, and enthusiastic supporter of his grandchildren in their athletic endeavors. He enjoyed working in his yard and garden, as well as, reading history and political books. He especially enjoyed reading and studying the Bible, his favorite book in the Bible being James. All through the years he kept up with his Longhorns, in the good years and the not so good years.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his wife of 60 years Ruth; son Rick and wife MaryAnn; daughter Gina and husband Gary; grandchildren Chad and wife Amy, Robby and wife Rachel, Jennifer and wife Celeste, Patrick and wife Rachel, Kaitlin and fiancé Anthony; great grandchildren Hannah, Emma, Scarlett, Marilyn and James with more on the way from Jennifer and Kaitlin.
Bob is remembered fondly as a devoted follower of the Lord, Jesus Christ.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 2PM at Wildwood chapel, Restland Park in Dallas Tx. The family asks in lieu of flowers, please contribute to Union Gospel Mission.
