James Gardner Furstenberg's Obituary
FURSTENBERG, JAMES “JIM” GARDNER born November 28, 1942, Jim made his last flight on December 7, 2012. Jim believed in enjoying life and making the most of who we truly are. He had a love for airplanes, woodworking, music and embroidery along with an exceptional ability to build anything. Most important to Jim was his role as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.. His passing is not a cause for grief and sorrow but rather on occasion for celebrating life. He is survived by his wife, best friend and soul mate, Vicki Myers Furstenberg; his 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Debi and Gary Lopez, Sheri and Greg Lenzen, Tresi and Jeff Ivy; grandchildren: Justin, Brett and Mac Lopez, Garrett, Kate and Cole Lenzen, Kayla and Macey Ivy; brother, Joe Furstenberg; sisters, Judy Brewer, Julia Bronstad, Janet Carlton and Jenny Kay Fuller; numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Ferge. So many friends will remember him fondly. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be 1:30 PM, Wednesday, December 12 at Restland Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow in Calvary Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Children’s Medical Center, Office of Development, P O Box 65047, Dallas, TX 75265-9868 or Small Paws Rescue, 3316 S. 72nd W. Ave, Tulsa, OK 74107. Jim will be deeply missed.
