James Golden Jr.'s Obituary
James Golden Jr., 93, born February 11, 1929 in New Albany, Mississippi, and passed away on August 23, 2021. He was born to parents James Golden and Lena Flanagan.
He was preceded in death by his loved one of over 60 years, Annie M. Pilcher Golden. They married in Fort Sill, Oklahoma on July 11, 1954.
Also, his sons, Zackary Golden and James Golden, III, preceded him.
James is survived by his son David Golden, daughters Dianne Logan, Denise Laster and son-in-law, Richard Bell, Darlene Cooper and son-in-law, Terry Cooper, Debra Buerck.
He also is survived by his grandchildren, Michelle, Jordan, BJ, Taylor & Colin Brayboy; Mark, Mykal & Maison; Johnny, Patrick and Alex; Krystopher; David, Jr. and Daviahana. Great-Grandchildren, Brityney, Jaden, Job, Josiah, Jacob & Joseph; Kalisa; Ayden and Beckham.
He served in the US Army on world-wide assignments from 9/1953 to 9/1975. He worked on the missile range and as an Electronic Technician. He was awarded Top Secret US and NATO clearances. He retired from the US Army at Fort Bliss, TX as a Sergeant First Class in 9/1975.James also volunteered with Veteran-related services.
He loved riding his motorcycles, fishing and eating out to enjoy a good and tender steak or BBQ ribs. He prided his small gun collection. Loved listening to Jazz and the Blues. Enjoyed watching National Geographic and other wildlife shows on TV. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Really enjoyed the Williams sisters playing tennis and Tiger Woods playing golf. His favorite pastime was watching Steve Harvey's talk shows and the Family Feud. And whenever possible, he enjoyed going to the casinos...where he was usually pretty lucky.
