James Earl Goss' Obituary
GOSS, JAMES EARL of Carrollton, Texas went to be with the Lord on December 23, 2011. James was born on October 15, 1935 in Dallas, Texas and lived his entire life in Dallas, Farmers Branch and Carrollton. He graduated from Forest Avenue High School in Dallas, served in the Marine reserves for 8 years, and worked for Lone Star Steel Company for 25 years. After his retirement he drove a bus for Lewisville ISD and for the Corinthians Retirement Community. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Carrollton and worked faithfully as an usher and was active in his Sunday school class and the senior choir, where he made many friends with his outgoing personality and contagious smile. He also had been a member of his square dance club and ukulele band at the local senior centers. James was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Carolyn; brother, Leslie Goss and wife Gerry of Austin; sister, Evelyn Joynt and husband, Jimmie; daughters Sharon Douphrate and Susan Mounsey & husband Brad; step-son Richard Berryman & wife Leslie; grandchildren Kaitlyn Douphrate, Luke Douphrate, Drew Douphrate, Jennifer Mounsey, all in the Dallas area, and Lauren Mounsey Hirs of Stratford, Connecticut and Sarah Ward of Pensacola, Florida. Also two great grandchildren, Quinn Hirs and Kessa Ward. In lieu of flowers, make donations to Dallas Area Parkinson’s Society. Services will be held Thursday, December 29, 1:30 PM at First Baptist Church of Carrollton.
