James W. Grandstaff Jr.'s Obituary
GRANDSTAFF, JAMES W. “Dub” age 88, of Dallas, Texas passed away at his home on Thursday, December 27, 2012 with wife and children all present. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Ruth Grandstaff; first wife, Marie Grandstaff; brothers, George, Jack and Bill Grandstaff; sister, Edith Goldsmith; and daughter-in-law, Diane Grandstaff. Mr. Grandstaff served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II; was a retired Deputy Sheriff for Dallas County, and owned a few businesses. In celebration of his life, Mr. Grandstaff leaves behind his loving wife, Mary, of 46 years, 3 wonderful children; son, Charles Grandstaff of Dallas; daughter, Anita Williams of Mesquite and son, David and wife, Mary Grandstaff of Fate, TX. He also is survived by 3 grandchildren, Danielle Hall, Jerry and Elijah Grandstaff; 4 great-grandchildren, Anabelle Long, Taylor Grandstaff, Jacob Sims and Trevor HaII; brother, Earl Grandstaff of Garland, TX and sister, Betty Campbell and husband, Dusty of Muskogee, OK. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday at Restland in Dallas followed by funeral services at 2:30 PM, on Monday, December 31, 2012 also at Restland, with Brother Bob Hendley officiating. Dub Grandstaff will be deeply missed by his entire family and his numerous friends. His immediate family wish to thank Vitas, especially Dawn and Thi for the exemplary care they gave to our beloved husband, father and grandfather in the last few months.
