James Green-Passed with peace and grace on March 27th, 2017, at the young age of 64, with his family at his side. He was preceded in death by his loving parents George and LaVerne Green. He is survived by his sister Sherry Green of Richardson, daughter Sara (Green) Ambrose of Little Elm, and daughter in-law Melissa Ambrose; only grandchild: Brandon Ambrose. He is also survived by his step-sisters Patsy Phillips & Joan Davidson. James was born in El Campo, Texas but, grew up in Richardson. James graduated from Richardson High School in 1971 and completed his Bachelors of Accounting at the University of Texas at Dallas. After marrying, he and his former wife, Toni, adopted their daughter, Sara. When he wasn’t working for the Trammel Crow Family, Precise Foods, and the FDIC, he threw his energies into the Republican Party where he sat as a Precinct Chair, represented Denton County at the Republican State Convention and worked various polling places. After a long time in the accounting world, James decided to do something he really enjoyed. He went back to school and attained his teacher certification. He was hired on with Plano Independent School District as a Special Education teacher. He loved the children he taught and the people he worked with. His hobbies included, spending time with his family, taking photographs, coin collecting, traveling, and reading. He took two trips to England and fell in love with Hadrian’s wall. He always had a passion for helping and he will always be remembered for how much he cared and what a kind heart he had. In his most recent years, James enjoyed spending time with his grandson. They both shared a fondness for Starbucks as you could find them frequenting the coffee counter there pretty often. A service will be held on Saturday April 8th, 2017 at 9:30 AM, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 600 S. Jupiter Rd., Richardson, TX 75081. The family wishes to thank the staff at Heritage Manor in Plano for their care specifically, Jon, Shirley, Deborah, Leslie, Anthony, and the physical therapy staff. If you wish, donations may be made to Feed the Children Foundation or St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He will be remembered fondly and missed dearly. I love you, Daddy! I’ll see you in the butterflies. – Sara Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
