James Paul Harrison's Obituary
HARRISON, JAMES PAUL James was born in Dallas on December 6, 1993. He died tragically in a house fire and was received into the loving arms of our Lord on July 7, 2012. He is survived by his beloved parents, James Gregory Harrison and Tammy Willard Curry, and by his sweet sister, Hayley Winston Harrison with whom he had a special relationship. James was a gentle and quiet Christian soldier. He was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of 2 1/2. For the next 10 years, with his devoted father by his side, he battled and finally defeated this terrible disease. During this time he spent many days each week at Medical City Dallas receiving treatments; not once did he ever complain, he always had a smile on his face and a cheerful response. He was an inspiration to us all. James graduated from Highland Park HS this past May and planned to attend Texas Tech in the fall. He recently returned from a wonderful trip to Europe with some of his high school buddies. James was on the wrestling team at HPHS and one of his highlights was winning a match that decided the team victory, pinning his opponent in the final match of the day. James spent his free time hunting and fishing with his father at their farm. James has numerous family members that have wonderful fond memories of this gentle Christian man: his grandparents Anne and Frank Harrison and Larry Althouse; his aunts Cynthia and Patricia Harrison and Elizabeth (Gary) Eckeberger; his uncles Frank Harrison and Neil Willard; his cousins Caroline, Francis, Hassie, and Bailey Harrison and Amy, Emily, and Truett Eckeberger; and dear family friend Nancy Dennis. His friends and family will miss him always and never forget him. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, July 11th at Restland Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 10:00 am at Christ the King Catholic Church with reception immediately following in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, please hug your children.
