Mr. James Howard Hoorman's Obituary
Born June 11, 1923 in Cincinnati, Ohio, and passed away February 10, 2012, in Dallas, Texas. Preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy A. Hoorman; mother, Pauline D. Hoorman; father, Howard P. Hoorman; and step-mother Hazel Hoorman. He is survived by his wife, Jane H. Hoorman; son, James R. Hoorman; daughters Barbara B. Hoorman, Sydney Gantzer and husband Ken, Becky Heslep, Emily Stewart and husband Bobby; and five grandchildren. He graduated from Hughes High School in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1941. He attended the University of Cincinnati before serving in the U.S. Army from 1943-1945. During World War II, he served in New Guinea, Admiralty Island and the Phillipines. He graduated from The Ohio State University in 1951, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering. From 1951-1969 he worked in various managerial positions for Wyandotte Chemicals Corporation in Wyandotte, Michigan and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. From 1969 until retirement in 1991 he worked as a Manager of Plant Operations for Texas Instruments in Dallas, Texas. He was an active member of the Hella Shrine Temple and the Hella Black Horse Patrol. He served as Captain of the Hella Black Horse Patrol and President and Chaplain of the Inter-National Shrine Horse Patrols.
