James "Jim" G. Howell's Obituary
James "Jim" Goode Howell, passed away on October 2, 2024, in his home in Dallas.
Jim was born in Amarillo, TX to Mary and Clem Howell. He was the youngest of six children, preceded in death by all. Jim was married to Sherry, his high school sweetheart, for 64 years and they had three sons together, Scotty, Danny, and Tommy. He graduated Woodrow Wilson High School and attended Texas A&M.
He began his career at National Cash Register where he was a top salesman and established his own business, ECR Systems, where he served as President from 1978 to present.
Jim was a member of Saint Michael’s & All Angels Church, and a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and Hella Temple Shrine.
His love of the Texas Rangers was seconded only by his love of being Dad and Pop to his family. He is survived by his wife, Sherry, three sons (Scotty, Danny, and Tommy), three daughters-in-love (Jerri, Gina, and Anne), eight grandchildren and their spouses (Melissa (Tom Southam), Scotty (Kelsie Howell), Arden (Josh Wirtz), Jake (Claire Howell), Grant (Kelly Howell), Brooke, Josie, Andy), and great-grandchildren (Amelia and Beckett Southam, and Will Howell).
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 11, 2024, at St. Michaels and All Angels chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital for cancer research and Tunnel to Towers.
