James William Ince's Obituary
INCE, JAMES WILLIAM passed peacefully on Tuesday May 29th at his home in Richardson, Texas. He was born on July 13, 1931 in Vinita Oklahoma to James and Darlene Ince. He is survived by his wife Nedra of 59 years, sister Mary Fisher and husband Hank of Sacramento, Ca., sons Jim R. Ince and wife Gloria of Plano, Tom W. Ince and wife Cindy of Hemphill, Jon W. Ince of Richardson, daughters Tammy Bos and husband Bob of Dallas, Jeanne Gurwitz and husband Gregg of San Antonio,12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He loved his family very much and will be greatly missed. He played football at Northeastern State in Oklahoma and Parsons Jr. College in Kansas, where he met the love of his life, Nedra. Afterwards, he served four years in the U. S. Air Force at March Air Force Base in Riverside, CA during the Korean Conflict. He was a church elder at St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church and was devoted to the Boy Scouts of America since 1966. A proud member of the Order of the Arrow for over 30 years, he was the Mikanakawa Lodge Advisor for 12 years from 1976 through 1987. Undoubtedly, his many years of dedication touched thousands of lives and resulted in more than 20 Scouting awards culminating with the amphitheater at Camp Wisdom which was dedicated in his name in 1995. His great sense of humor and corny jokes will be dearly missed. Visitation will be held on Friday June 1st 6 to 8 P.M. at Restland Funeral Home, in Dallas Texas. A private entombment on Saturday June 2nd will be followed by a memorial celebration of his life at St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church, 1220 W. Beltline, Richardson Texas at 1 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Order of the Arrow, BSA to establish the Mikanakawa Lodge NOAC Jim Ince Scholarship Fund, which will be used to send youth members to the National Order of the Arrow Conference. This year’s conference will be held at Michigan State University in August 2012. Donations should be mailed to Mikanakawa Lodge Advisor, Tim Conard, 1808 North Cheyenne Dr., Richardson, Tx 75080.
