James "Jim" D. Skiles' Obituary
MSgt James (Jim) D. SKILES, 81 – Passed with Dignity and Honor in the presence of his family members on June 24th, 2015. He was a 20 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired with Honors in 1973. Upon his retirement he moved his family to Richardson Texas where he raised his family of 5 children. Jim was an entrepreneur, a business owner and a shrewd business man who lived life on his own terms. Always self employed and fully engaged in the challenges of life, he loved buying and selling electronic test equipment. Even in his last weeks of his life he was bragging on making another sale. Always one to be quick with a joke, a smoke and a VO and Coke, Jim was loved by many and liked by all. He was a kind hearted man who never met a stranger and never had a friend in need that he could not help. Jim was born in Dysart Iowa, in 1933 to Byron and Elizabeth Skiles. Jim was preceded in death by Shirley, his wife of 34 years and his brother Byron. Jim is survived and lovingly remembered by; his children: Larry, Sherry, Lee, Kenneth (K.C.), and Colleen; his grandchildren: Christina, David, Kevin, Jason, Dustin, Ryan, James, Kelly, Abby, Carson, and Kaitlyn; Jim was also survived by his wife Nancy. The visitation will be at Restland Funeral home 13005 Greenville Dallas TX, 75243 on Sunday June 28th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. The Graveside Service will be at DFW National Cemetery 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas TX, 78211 on Monday June 29th at 9:30am. Friends and Family are welcomed to attend. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
