Worked with James (Bear) for many many years. He loved his family and loved to brag on his grandchildren. He was a lot of fun to work with and had a great sense of humor & loved to talk and visit! He use to like to tell people he was from L.A. (Lower Alabama) lol Bear you will be missed my brother.
I worked with Bear since 1997 at Roadway Express. He was a really good man. I thought a lot of him. He really earned my respect when he took his vacation and went somewhere up north to help rebuild a home for a needy family. I thought that said a lot about the character of the man that he was. He would often talk about his grandchildren particularly DJ but it's been a while since I've talked to him as we worked different shifts and he liked to talk about the cars he had back in the day also. You could tell he loved his family and would do anything for them……..you will be missed, old friend.
James was a great person, he had a good heart and was just a jolly fella. He loved to talk your ear off. I have known James for quite some time, I had the privilege to work with him at Roadway. When I first met him, we were at a training seminar for Roadway. I was 9 months pregnant and James told me, hey your shoe is untied. I told him I couldn't tie it and he said I will do it for you. He bent over and tied my shoe, that was my first meeting of Bear. He was a great truck driver and no matter what, during, summer, spring, fall and winter. He always wore his shorts and his sleeveless shirts. When you saw him, you knew why he was called BEAR! He will be truly missed as a wonderful person. Heaven has gained a strong, grizzly Bear as an angel! To his family, always cherish the memories you had with him. My prayers are with you during this time. Thanks Rachel Reyes Cervantes
